Install CM11 Android 4.4 on Galaxy Note 2 N7100 [Custom ROM]

How to Install CyanogenMod CM11 Android 4.4 Kitkat on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 Custom ROM. Android 4.4 Kitkat can now be installed on Galaxy Note N7100 via CyanogenMod 11. CyanogenMod 11 brings the features and tweaks of the latest Android 4.4 Kitkat firmware which came in Nexus 5. This post will guide you on how to Install CM 11 Android 4.4 Kitkat on Galaxy Note 2 N7100 Custom ROM. Have a look at the following important tips before installing this Custom ROM and keep them in mind.

Important Tips:
  • This tutorial is only for installing CM11 on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100. Please do not try on any other Galaxy Note 2 variants.
  • Your phone should be rooted and have ClockworkMod recovery installed from before > How to Root Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100
  • This tutorial will wipe out all your data. Proceed at your own risk.
  • Perform a Dalvik Cache wipe before proceeding from the recovery mode.
  • Samsung KIES will NOT detect your phone after installing this ROM because it is a custom firmware.
  • This installation will wipe your data. Make sure to backup your phone data:
  • Install Galaxy Note 2 USB drivers -> Download USB Drivers for Galaxy Note 2 N7100.
I have written this detailed and easy to understand step-by-step instructions guide on How to Install CM11 Android 4.4 Kitkat on Galaxy Note 2 N7100 Custom ROM. If you are used to installing custom roms on your Galaxy Note 2, then this should not be any different for you. However, for beginners, it is recommended that you read the whole tutorial before installing this ROM on your device.

How to Install CM11 Android 4.4 Kitkat on Galaxy Note 2 N7100 Custom ROM:

Required File(s):
Note: You must have CWM 6.0.3.7 or TWRP 2.6.1.0 Recovery Installed on your Galaxy Note 2.
Step 1 – Download the above mentioned files for Galaxy Note 2 to your computer or download them directly to your phone.
Step 2 – Connect and mount your Galaxy Note 2 USB memory on your computer using the USB cable.
Step 3 – Now copy/paste the downloaded cm-11-20131130-Linaro-n7100.zip and Google Apps Zip file to your SD card. Make sure the file is in the SD card root (not in any folder).
Step 4 – Then turn OFF your phone and disconnect from the USB cable.
Step 5 – Now to get in the Recovery Mode. Switch ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together.

Step 6 – Once you are in ClockworkMod Recovery, select perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset” as shown below. Use the Power button to select everything while in the Recovery Mode.

Step 7 – Then, perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition” as you can see in the image below.

Step 8 – Now this is optional, but it is recommended to perform a wipe of your dalvik cache as well. You will not get into boot loops or any other errors. From CWM recovery, go to ‘advanced’ and then select “wipe dalvik cache”.

Step 9 – Then go back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card”.

Step 10 – Now select “choose zip from sdcard” as shown below. Using your volume keys, navigate to the cm-11-20131130-Linaro-n7100.zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Setup will start now.

Google Apps: Repeat the above step for the Gapps zip file as well and install it on your phone.
Step 11 – After the installation completes, Reboot your phone by selecting “Reboot system now” from ClockworkMod Recovery menu as shown in the picture below. It might take a couple of minutes on first boot. So, be patient.
